About Mockingly

Mockingly is an AI-powered platform for practicing system design interviews. You design real systems on an interactive whiteboard while an AI interviewer probes your trade-offs, bottlenecks, capacity assumptions, and failure modes — the same way a senior engineer would in a real interview loop.

What you can do here

  • Practice mock interviews on an interactive whiteboard with an AI interviewer that responds to your design choices in real time.
  • Get architectural feedback — the AI analyzes your diagram and explanations and points out trade-offs, bottlenecks, capacity considerations, and failure scenarios.
  • Work through a question bank covering common backend and Android system design problems, including company-specific variants for Google, Meta, Amazon, Uber, and others.
  • Read in-depth guides on our blog covering distributed systems, caching, sharding, consistency models, messaging systems, storage, observability, and mobile architecture.
  • Upgrade to Pro for detailed post-session analysis, a readiness score with trends, and access to company-tagged question variants. See pricing.

How sessions work

You pick a question, the AI presents the prompt, and you sketch your design on the whiteboard while talking through it in chat. Difficulty adapts as you progress. After each session you get critique and suggested improvements; Pro users get a structured analysis covering strengths, gaps, and a readiness score.
